The Interplak® drive system featured 5 pairs of counter-rotating brushes aligned in a spur rack configuration. The drive lever, base plate, guide plate, actuator gears, and drive gears were made from a mix of materials, including 6/6 nylon, 612 nylon, acetal, and stainless steel. A real world application of tribology – the science of friction, lubricity, and wear.
